Compensation for the Suncheon Garden Expo Site to be completed soon

순천시가 추진중인 2013 순천만 정원박람회장 편입부지 보상이 시작한 지 10여일 만에 전체 보상액의 50%에 달했다.
Suncheon city is in an ongoing process to purchase land from owners where the Suncheon Garden Expo site will be developed. Ten days after starting the process, the compensation of transferring land reached 50% of the total compensation money.

지난 3일부터 협의보상에 들어간 정원박람회장 부지 477㎢가운데 현재까지 245㎢(51%)이 이전되었다.
477㎢ area of land is to be transferred and half of that is already completed by the City Hall.

박람회장 주변 국제습지센터의 부지 보상은 80%가 마무리되었고 수목원은 74%의 토지보상이 이뤄져 올해 상반기 안에는 보상작업이 완료될 것으로 전망하고 있다.
Within Expo site, compensation of The International Wetland Center site is about 80% complete and the compensation for the Arboretum site stands at about 74% complete. It’s estimated for the total process of compensation to be completed by the first half of the year.

순천시는 토지보상이 빠르게 진행되고 있는 것은 토지 소유주들의 적극적인 협조와 정원박람회 성공에 대한 시민들의 폭넓은 공감대가 형성되었기 때문이라고 분석했다.

The fluidity of the compensation process can be based on the positive cooperation, support, and consensus of landowners about the value of The International Garden Expo Suncheon Bay, Korea 2013 to the future of Suncheon.

A Master Plan for the Suncheon Garden Expo was chosen

A competition was held to select a “Master Plan” for the International Garden Exposition, Suncheon Bay Korea 2013.

Amongst 10 exhibitions, a team with the slogan: “Welcome to the Garden Valley.” won the first prize. Five other exhibitions were selected as fine works.

The judges used the following criteria: Landscape architecture, design, environment, and transportation when judging the exhibitions. They also considered whether it displayed the characteristics of Suncheon Bay and the vision for the ‘Future Suncheon’.

The decision of organizing and holding a “Master Plan Competition” is expected to be part of the acceleration to promote the International Garden Exposition Suncheon Bay Korea 2013.
